Some sweet southern hospitality

‘Jewel of the south’ Event bartending service

Role

Logo design, colour palette, brand design, social graphics

Looking to firmly stamp their name on the event and corporate bartending and mobile bar services, Jewel of the South needed a logo, brand and overall identity to take their offering to the next level.

The ask for the brand was to include sleek and elegant fonts, that were still legible and a burst of flavour in the colour palette - inspired by exotic citrus fruits and vibrant cocktails. The brand mark needed to reflect the name in a smart, sophisticated and simple way; the iconic silhouette of the martini glass fit perfectly with the angles of a gemstone to make a natural, flowing shape.

For typography, I contrasted ‘Mama’, beautiful flowing font that boasts sprawling ligatures whilst retaining readability, with ‘Quicksand’, a simple, rounded sans serif. The palette needed bright citrus hues, whilst retaining professionalism, feeling complimentary and passing accessibility. A 6-shade palette that drew inspiration from drinks and fruits did the trick nicely.
